Eric H. Hintz is a Criminal Defense attorney in Sacramento, California. He represents clients throughout Northern California in cases involving Criminal Defense, White Collar Criminal Defense, DUI, domestic violence, sex crimes, computer crimes, financial crimes and juvenile crimes.
In 2007, 2008, 2009, 2010, 2011, 2012, 2013, 2014, 2015, 2016, 2017, 2018, 2019, 2020, 2021, 2022, 2023, 2024, 2025 and 2026, Mr. Hintz was recognized by his peers as a Super Lawyer in Criminal Defense.
A lifelong resident of the Sacramento area, Mr. Hintz graduated from Elk Grove High School in 1977. He received his undergraduate degree in Economics from the University of California at Davis in 1982.
After college, Mr. Hintz earned his law degree from the University of California College of the Law, San Francisco (formerly UC Hastings). On graduating from law school in 1985, he returned to Sacramento, where he and his wife Ronda raised their family of four boys. Three of those boys are now married with children of their own. One of his sons, Brandon, has joined him in the practice of law.
Mr. Hintz has always been active in his community and his church. He is an ordained deacon in the Catholic Church. He is also an avid recreational athlete, with interests that range from surfing to water and snow skiing, weight lifting, swimming and MMA. Over the years he has coached youth football, basketball, baseball and soccer.
With more than 35 years of legal experience, Mr. Hintz remains committed to a personal, hands-on approach to practicing law. New business comes almost exclusively through referrals from satisfied clients and other attorneys.
Since January 1, 2023, Mr. Hintz has practiced from 2150 River Plaza Drive, Suite 140, in Sacramento, where he is Of Counsel to the law firm of Messing Adam Jasmine & Shore while maintaining his independent Criminal Defense practice, the Law Offices of Eric H. Hintz.
